EditRequest gadget
[edit]The EditRequest gadget has never worked, ever since it was imported from Commons in 2020. As written, it only runs on pages that have elements with the class .com-edit-request-admin-area, but no pages on Meta have this class. According to Special:GadgetUsage, it has 20 active users and 6 inactive; the gadget has always been admin-only, so these 26 are all admins or former admins.
The gadget consists of these three pages:
- MediaWiki:Gadget-EditRequest.js
- MediaWiki:FulfillEditRequest.js/install.js
- MediaWiki:FulfillEditRequest.js
I have deleted them accordingly and removed the corresponding entry from MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition. If someone wants to try their hand at rewriting it so that it works on Meta, feel free to ask me for a code review. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 05:18, 16 December 2025 (UTC)

Block of Faster than Thunder
[edit]I'd just like to note here for transparency that I have blocked Faster than Thunder for a week and disabled talk page access. Much of the context around this block is at their talk page. This may be a controversial block so I'm leaving this note here in case anyone wants to comment on this block; I'm fine with lifting or lowering it if others do not find it justified. - Their editing on Meta appears to clearly contradict the 'not an appeal court' policy. The block seems absolutely legitimate to me. If they start acting like this again after the block expires, I'd take it further. -Barras talk 13:42, 25 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason for request: I am requesting event organizer rights to create and manage an Meta-Wiki event page with participant registration for an upcoming in-person celebration of Wikipedia’s 25th Birthday organized by our informal group WikiClub Tech at United University. The event requires structured registration, participant tracking, and proper documentation.
Criteria met:
- No active blocks: No active blocks on any Wikimedia project.
- Global edits: I have 534 total global edits with 32 attached accounts. (Details available via Special:CentralAuth.)
- Additional criteria: I am an active Wikimedia community organizer and the founder of WikiClub Tech at United University, regularly organizing onboarding sessions, outreach activities, and community events.
Additional information: I am familiar with Meta-Wiki policies and understand the responsible use of the Event Registration system. These rights will be used solely for Wikimedia-related events in line with community guidelines.

Reason for request: I would like to ask for this right in order to organize the events for Wikimedia Slovakia on Meta-Wiki. Currently, we plan to organize an event for the 25th anniversary of Wikipedia, hence my request.
Criteria met:
- No active blocks: I am not blocked on any Wikimedia project.
- Global edits: I have 16k+ edits across several projects, vast majority (75%) on skwiki.
- Additional Criteria: I am one of the vice-chairs of Wikimedia Slovakia and organize events with them regularly.
