I regularly keep a finger on the pulse of the wiki community and try to bring attention to the innovative ideas of others as I wander Wikipedia's vast network of WikiProject communities. Read my work here.

I would like to see development of the collaborative and social functionality of Wikimedia sites, better analytics for measuring and keeping track of the various Wiki communities, stronger ties between different languages of Wikipedia, better standardization of useful tools and templates, a greater abundance of unique initiatives and contests, efforts to improve coverage of underdeveloped topics and neglected geographic areas, plans to correct the movement's gender and cultural imbalances, and ways to make all Wikimedia sites more inviting for potential long-term contributors. Some of these wishes may be too ambitious for the Individual Engagement Grants to achieve, but progress only comes when people are willing to take a chance.
