Nicknamed the "Prime Minister of the Underworld" he became one of the most powerful and influential Mafia bosses in American history, eventually leading a criminal organization dubbed by law enforcement as the "Rolls Royce of organized crime", the Luciano crime family which came to be known as the Genovese crime family.
