This means that the photographer alone may decide on the use of the photograph.
The image may only be used

• in accordance with the rules of the specified free licence
• with the express consent of the author
  

Particular attention should be paid to the terms of use, especially on social media. These often differ from the licence terms listed here. (See also CC BY-SA licenses and social media.) Please check whether use is permitted in the respective medium before publication.
Uploading to Facebook, Instagram or other social networks is expressly prohibited.  

Why this is important

• The file name is part of the mandatory information for the licence and therefore must not be changed.
• The image file, licence and file name (title) form an inseparable unit. The author has provided the image with precisely this licence.
• If any information is missing or incorrect, the author would be grateful for notification.
  

What is allowed and what is not

• Adjustments within a wiki are possible, but not every change is acceptable.
• Please note that the image may also be used outside the Wikimedia environment. The attribution always refers to exactly this file and this location.
• If you wish to edit the image and publish the result, please upload it as a new image under a new file name and use the Derivat or Extrakt template.
• Identify yourself as the editor when uploading a derivative or excerpt. You are responsible for these changes.
• Only licences that are compatible with the specified licence may be used as an alternative. All other licensing rights are reserved by the copyright holder.
  

Additional note

• Links should lead directly to the relevant page with the appropriate image to avoid misunderstandings.
• I expressly distance myself from images based on my photographs if third parties have made only minor changes and yet my name alone is given as the author.

The author shall only edit the original file in .dng format. Changes to a .jpg file inevitably lead to a loss of quality and make it difficult to trace the editing process. Only by editing the original file can you ensure that both the image quality and the editing steps are preserved. It also allows easy access to the source when used externally, which is not guaranteed with file versions.
